Description Cleaner is a moderation plugin for Osclass that sanitizes sensitive contact content in listing text using deterministic rules. It helps reduce spam-like content in titles and descriptions and keeps listing output cleaner and more consistent.
Core behavior is rule-based and fully configurable from plugin settings.
What It Sanitizes
The plugin can process links, phone numbers, WhatsApp patterns, email addresses, Instagram handles/links, and extra spaces or control characters.
How It Sanitizes
You can choose one sanitization mode for all enabled targets:
- Remove: matched value is removed from output text.
- Mask: matched value is partially obfuscated based on predefined masking rules.
For descriptions, HTML tags are preserved and only matching text fragments are sanitized.
When It Runs
Execution timing is configurable:
- On save/update: sanitizes before data is stored.
- On-the-fly display: sanitizes rendered output only.
- Both: combines save-time and display-time sanitization.
Website URL Normalization
Optionally normalizes user website values to HTTPS during user create/edit and validates final URL. Invalid values are stored as empty.
This enables immediate cleanup of existing listings (display mode) and strict control for future edits (save mode).
