Butler, or better said "Cleaning" osclass plugin helps you to manage inactive and redundant content on your site, as Osclass itself does not contains tools to clean up inactive data (up to v4.2), you will have to use this (or similar) plugin to do that:
- Remove expired listings
- Remove not-activated listings
- Remove spam listings
- Remove not-activated user accounts
Usage plugin is very simple, just enter what you want from plugin to be cleaned and save, all cleaning will be executed by cron, therefore it is very important to have cron properly setup on your classifieds.
Why is it important to remove unnecessary data?
Never hold data you do not need and are useless in your database. It may have negative impact on performance (i.e. if 50% of data in some tables are inactive and will never be visible to customers) as well increase file size of your system.
On the other hand, GDPR for EU customers says, you should only keep data you really need, in case of spam, inactive and disabled listings and ads, you do not need those data in your osclass classifieds.
