Radius Search plugin should be essential for classifieds that rely too much on location, like car sale. Plugin functionality is wide and allows to show listings on map or enable users to search in radius around some location, for example around their city. Also to map add feature to show listings near to user or calculate distance of listing location from user location.

Radius search functionality

first you generate coordinates to your cities and listings
once coordinates are successfully attached, when new listing is added, coordinates are found automatically on background
if there is listing placed in city you do not have coordinates, script will also find this city in database and save coordinates
choose if you want to show input or select box for distance and measure (km / mile)
map on search page reacts to search parameters
show listings by it's location (country/region/city) or all listings
limit maximum count of listings on map
show only listings in same category on item page
show only premiums on map
now plugin works even you have javascript errors on your site
define map width & height for each page (home, search & item)

use Google Geolocation Script included in plugin - this script is restricted on 2500 tasks per day from 1 url, that is why we created own load script of coordinates you can download from web
download file with coordinates from web (free from http://download.geonames.org/export/zip/) - following step by step instruction you can upload coordinates from file - you can download file from web for free - work perfectly also for huge countries (tested on 40 000 cities and works perfect) - breaking script into smaller time parts solved problem with too big queries and for cycles

To enable Geo location to users (HTML5), it is required to have SSL certificate on your classifieds (nulled).

This plugin is perfect for those who wants to show nearby listings for user selected Radius. You just have to once input some locations and their coordinates in the Plugin backend and it works without any API. I am not sure how exactly it calculates the distance without any API but I can say that it shows very accurate distance as per your provided location coordinates. And if its not connecting with Google to calculate the distance as we aren't providing any API key means we won't get charged for anything. Hope I am understanding it correctly because I am not sure if after a certain number of searches maybe it will ask to enter the API key for further searches but let see till then will continue how its working because its doing it job properly. You can also hook the Map on Listing page but for that you will need the API key and I think you get around 24k Map load free every month and after that they have different plans. I would personally recommend to use this plugin if your only purpose is showing nearby listings for user selected location.

If you had explained that this plugin did not work with google api in the description, and that it was better to use openstreet plugin, I would not have bought it, I feel ripped off. this plugin is rubbish and i threw my money away.

2.0 - Not very good

After following the instructions. Nothing I do puts the coordinates into the database. On step 2 it puts just 2 cities in. On step 3 it says its worked but doesn't put the coordinates into the database even though it says it has. Therefore I have to manually add the coordinates. Asked for help and didn't get any. Wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks for feedback, unfortunately google services are paid for more than year so in order to use maps & geolocation API, you must have billing profile created. Otherwise usage of plugin will be tuff. If you are looking for free solution, check openstreetmaps plugin that has same functionality like radius search, but use free services and API.
